2019 Seattle International Film Festival Campaign, Cinema Served Hot
Every year, the Seattle International Film Festival serves up hundreds of films for audiences to sink their eyes into. But have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to dish out such an assortment of films? Wonder no more! "Cinema Served Hot" shares with festival-goers the recipe for creating the largest, most exciting film festival in North America—and invites them to add the final, most important ingredient: watching.
SIFF's 2019 campaign objective was to generate excitement for the festival with creative that was approachable, emotionally upbeat, and felt more like collectible art than advertising. We created a :60 trailer, five :30 bumpers, a campaign poster, a style guide for external partners, and various outdoor and digital assets.
As senior designer and art director for this campaign, my roles included concept development, poster design, artist sourcing and direction, toolkit development, photo art direction, and logo design. The fun and playful creative was easily adaptable across channels and mediums, thanks to a detailed style guide and effective creative solutions.
The campaign generated city-wide excitement and extensive attention, garnering awards across the country, including:
