The final murals were a hit. T-Mobile executives gave them high praise during store visits, and the project even won an Honorable Mention for Environmental Design in the 2022 Graphis Design Annual. Ryan was hired for three more projects after the success of the murals: an edited version of the longhorn mural for a motion wall in Plano, two new localized murals called "Piano Keys" for the Southlake store, and custom artwork for T-Mobile's box at Cowboys Stadium. T-Mobile also hosted Ryan at an artist event in Southlake where he sold custom T-Mobile t-shirt illustrations.

Custom Murals for Gates of Prosper

Localized artwork at the T-Mobile Experience Store in Prosper, Texas

T-Mobile opened a new Experience Store in Prosper, Texas, and wanted to add localized flair through two large-format custom murals. The pieces needed to reflect Dallas culture, use a branded color palette, and work together while remaining distinct. As concept lead and art director, I set out to find a Dallas-based artist who could create authentically Texan artwork while aligning with the T-Mobile brand. I found Ryan Sprague and was drawn to his geometric compositions and bold visual style—his work felt like a natural fit for the space.

Ryan illustrated and hand-painted two 7'x8.5' murals titled Rodeo Boot and Longhorn Hat. With art direction, we incorporated iconic North Texas imagery into each piece. Rodeo Boot features a cowboy boot, the Dallas skyline, the Lone Star flag, a spur, and the warm sun, while Longhorn Hat showcases a bull, a cowboy hat, the Prosper windmill, and a prickly pear cactus. I oversaw production details including frame style, plaque design, and material selection to ensure the murals became polished, permanent fixtures in the store.
